Upgrade to 6.8 with intermediate steps?

Hi there,

so I want to upgrade from OpenNebula version 6.0 to 6.8 (Ubuntu 20.04)
I installed OpenNebula from packages (opennebula & opennebula-sunstone).
As far as I know, I first need to upgrade to 6.2, then 6.4 and 6.6 to finally upgrade to 6.8. I already requested the migration packages for 6.8. But how do I upgrade to 6.2 and so on? Which additional packages do I use and how?
I am a bit confused, because some posts say, I need to upgrade to intermediate versions and some say I can upgrade directly.

I tried to follow this upgrade guide (without upgrading to 6.2, etc.?), but I get an error at step 6, when I execute sudo dpkg -i --auto-deconfigure opennebula-migration-community_6.8.0-1_all.deb.

Unpacking opennebula-migration-community (6.8.0-1) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of opennebula-migration-community:
 opennebula-migration-community depends on opennebula (>= 6.8); however:
  Version of opennebula on system is 6.0.0.3-1.ce.

Best regards

As noted in the upgrade documentation there are no intermediate updates, other than what is pointed at on the Note. Basically

  • upgrade from 6.0 to 6.6
  • request migrator
  • upgrade to 6.8

okay, thank you very much!
How can I upgrade to 6.6 then? That should be this guide, right?
Do I then have to request another migration package for 6.6 CE?

The migration packages are included in 6.6.1.1 :wink:
