Live disk resize - when is hidden?

As I am not sure is this a bug or expected behavior…

Testing 5.3.85. I can’t find where is the disk-resize icon in Sunstone.

So the question is are there any constraints that hide the resize on the interface or I am looking at the wrong place?

Hi, I think you have to create a block storage from the Image first. Then click the attach disk button and select your image block.

Hi Jacqui,

Your suggestion is right but it is to resize the image before attaching the image.

I am looking for a new feature in 5.4-betas - the equivalent of the CLI command onevm disk-resize $VM_ID $DISK_ID $NEW_SIZE_MB in Sunstone.

Hi Anton,

You’re right.
One of the new features of 5.4 is the ability to live disk resize.

Thanks for the report. Its fixed.

Regards.
Abel.

Hi AbelC,

I’ve merged the patch from github and resize dialog is working.

There are two oter issues now:

  1. the resize icon is on the CONTEXT CDROM too:

  1. If I “accidentaly” click resize on the context cdrom there is an error message “disk_resize action not available for this resource” which is ok, but sometimes the rest of the page is shaded gray and it stay that way until I refresh the entire page. Do not happens always though.

Hi Anton,

I have deleted the disk_resize action for context and solved the bug in range-slider. I think that all the problems are solved.

Thanks for your help and patience.

Regards.
Abel.

Hi AbelC,

Thank you for the update.

I’ll test the patches again to verify before the 5.4-rc. (most probably later today)
