About the Community Support Category

(Imllorente) #1

For users of OpenNebula to seek and provide support on a best-effort basis. In addition to the discussions here, there are other ways to get in touch:

1. CHECK THE DOCUMENTATION

The first resource to check is the documentation, make sure also to check the specific guides for the storage and virtualization solutions available in your cloud.

2. CHECK THE MAILING LIST ARCHIVES

The archives for the old user mailing list are also a rich source of useful information.

3. ASK ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN THIS FORUM

Sign up to this forum and ask about the problem on here. Please be specific and provide information about your enviroment (OpenNebula version, hypervisor, operating system…). The logs which OpenNebula generates can be a valuable resource when trying to diagnose a problem. The logs can be found in the /var/log/one folder.

4. ASK ABOUT THE PROBLEM IN IRC

You can also find help in the #opennebula IRC channel on Freenode.

And there are even more resources on the Community page.

Please use common sense when using the forum. We don’t know what you have tried out or what is your expertise level. We suggest you provide the following information so the community can help you out:

  • What OpenNebula version are you using?
  • What operating system are you using?
  • How have you installed OpenNebula? From source or from packages? Which packages?
  • Have you searched the documentation? Which guides have you read?
  • Please attach relevant logs.
  • Is there a way to reproduce the problem?
  • What have you tried so far?
